  1. improve your sleep quality
    • getting less than 6 hours of sleep a night could heighten your chances of getting heart disease — and you’re 27% more likely to get atherosclerosis/hardening of the arteries
    • sleep in a pitch black room by getting blackout curtains
    • wear TrueDark glasses (limit blue light)
    • find out your sleep chronotype — when you wake up according to your genetic predisposition, you’ll have higher sleep quality
    • track your sleep with an app or an Oura Ring
    • the goal is to increase your sleep quality each night
  2. stop drinking caffeine at least 8 hours before you go to bed to increase sleep quality
  3. reduce/manage stress
  4. cut out sugar
  5. cut out wheat
    • wheat and bread is sprayed with glyphosate
    • glyphosate hurts your gut bacteria
    • it can stick into the collagen in your body and hinder your body’s production of healthy, connective tissues
    • wheat contains mold-derived toxins
    • replace wheat with green leafy vegetables, grassfed butter, sweet potatoes
  6. cut out industrial meat from commercial feedlots
    • feedlots cause soil erosion, water pollution, fossil fuel consumption, and bad air quality
    • industrial meat is full of hormones, antibiotics, and toxins, which poison your good gut bacteria
  7. eat more vegetables like spirulina
    • in a 2010 study, mice that were fed spirulina for 28 days grew more stem cells, and their stem cells were more resilient to stress

    • fiber from vegetables feeds your good gut bacteria, and the good gut bacteria make short chain fatty acids
    • your body uses short chain fatty acids to make energy, make your immune system stronger, and lower inflammation
  8. engage in intermittent fasting
  9. engage in HIIT — high intensity interval training
  10. stimulate thermogenesis (heat production) in the body
    • put a cold pack on the upper back where the brown fat is
    • turn on the cold water for 30 seconds at the end of your shower
    • stimulates brown adipose tissue/brown fat
    • brown fat could make you feel fuller more quickly
    • brown fat interacts with the gut hormone secretin to tell your brain you’re full
