Dessert Smoothie

 

Ingredients:

1/2 cup cashews

1 cup kale

10 dates

2 bananas

fresh ginger (one medium-sized piece)

1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

1/2 cup water

2 cups ice (about 12 ice cubes)

 

Steps:

Soak the cashews overnight.

Strain the water from the cashews.

Rinse the cashews.  Put 1/2 cup of cashews in the blender.

Rinse the kale.

Separate the kale leaves from the stalk.

Add 1 cup of kale to the smoothie.

Take the pits out of 10 dates and cut them into small pieces.  Soak them for an hour.  Then add the dates and water to the smoothie.

Add 2 bananas to the smoothie.

Add 2 cups of ice (about 12 ice cubes) to the smoothie.

Skin the ginger and cut it into pieces so that it can be minced.

Put small pieces in the mincer.

Hold the mincer over the blender and squeeze the mincer (until juice comes out).

Add 1/2 tsp. of vanilla extract.

Add 1/2 cup of water.

Blend until smooth.

 

Hot Tips:

  • You can use 1 tbsp. of maple syrup instead of the dates.
  • Get organic raw cashews.
  • Double-up or triple-up the recipe so that you can share!
  • Moderation is the key with this smoothie.
